Information We Collect

  • Precise Geolocation Data: With your permission, we access your device's exact geographical coordinates (via the browser's Location feature, for example when you use "Locate me") to retrieve localized weather and air quality forecast metrics. This data is processed client-side and sent directly to our secure forecasting API endpoint. We do not store your precise coordinates on our servers.
  • Approximate (IP-based) Location: So we can show weather for your area without requiring a location prompt, we may estimate your approximate, city-level location from your IP address. This lookup is performed by third-party services (ipwho.is and ipapi.co), which receive your IP address to return an approximate location. To translate coordinates into a place name, we also use BigDataCloud's reverse-geocoding service. The detected location may be cached locally in your browser to avoid repeated lookups. We do not use IP-based location to identify you personally, and you can override it at any time by searching for a city or using "Locate me".
  • Account Information: If you register or log in, we store your profile email, display name, and hashed passwords securely in order to save favorite locations.
  • Log Files & Analytics: Standard tracking systems like Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics are used to analyze user behavior, click flows, and diagnostic performance metrics to improve the service.

Cookies and Web Beacons

Like any other website, Aethera uses "cookies". These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information.

Google DoubleClick DART Cookie

Google is one of the third-party vendors on our site. It also uses cookies, known as DART cookies, to serve ads to our site visitors based upon their visit to https://omghimir.online and other sites on the internet.
